The mechanism has a winding roll (1) wound with spreading bands (2). The bands include a profile transverse to a longitudinal direction in a stretched state and are reversibly transferred into a winding state with a flat cross-section in the longitudinal direction. A drive unit (3) is provided with a band, a rope and a chain. A conduit e.g. hose, conducts liquids, electric current and/or light to free ends of the spreading bands. An intermediate layer of the conduit and/or the drive unit is wound on the winding roll between the spreading bands.
