The communication system (5) has a rear-time controlled Ethernet-data network (40) with communication devices (50,60) which have a synchronous timing circuit (57,67). A bridge device (30) is provided with another communication device (10) that is connected with the bridge device. The bridge device has a timer which is synchronized with the timing circuit of the former communication devices. An independent claim is also included for a method for isochronous data transmission in real time.
