The method involves connecting one ends of windings (W1-W3) to a neutral point (SP) coupled with voltage source (B). Other ends of windings are connected with respective switches (M11,M12,M21,M22,M31,M32) coupled to capacitor (C). The alternating current (AC) is made to flow through windings when switches are opened and closed in normal operation. One of the switches is detected to be in failure state, the direct current is made to flow through winding associated with respective failure switch, and AC is made to through other windings. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) arrangement with induction machine; and (2) motor vehicle.
