The device (1) has an ultrasonic sensor (6) and a reflector (8) arranged in an elastic protective bellow (12). The ultrasonic sensor and the reflector are hermetically separated by the elastic protective bellow from environment lying outside of the elastic protective bellow. The elastic protective bellow is made of elastomeric material. The reflector is designed as a ball shaped calotte. An inner space of the elastic protective bellow comprises higher inner pressure with respect to the environment lying outside of the elastic protective bellow.
