The body (1) has a surface profile including wear-proof profile bodies (5) arranged at a distance from each other and protruding from of a roller surface (2). Parts of the profile bodies protruding from the roller surface include a rounded and/or tapered profile body heads, where a length (L) of each head amounts to 50 to 100 percentage of an entire length protruding from the roller surface. A spacing of the bodies is selected so that an autogenous wear-protection layer (4) made of a material to be cut is formed between the bodies in a milling operation. The profile bodies are made of a composite material with metal carbide or ceramic composite material.
