The assembly has a plug connector (2) whose guide rail (11) is corresponded to a cuboid guide element (8) e.g. guide rib, of another plug connector (1). The latter connector comprises two regions extended along a longitudinal axis (9) in an insertion direction. Multiple contacts are arranged in one region to provide electrical interconnection with the former connector, where the contacts are arranged parallel to each other. The guide element is arranged at distance from the contacts in another region and placed against the guide rail in a connected state of the connectors.
