The refrigerator has a body (1) enclosing a cooling space, and holding devices (3) i.e. holding projections, for shelves (2), with inner side walls that are arranged at the body. The shelves are formed in the cooling space in an extended manner. An illumination device is arranged in the holding devices. The holding projections are formed from the side walls by deep-drawing, and shelf levels are formed on the side walls of the holding devices with the illumination device. The illumination device comprises a housing part with a carrier for an LED and electric lines.
