The lambda probe has a solid electrolyte (70) to which an electrical heating element (16) is connected so as to transfer heat with solid electrolyte. An electrode (22) is extended in fluid channel (20) of solid electrolyte. The electrode (12) is provided in a measuring chamber (10) within solid electrolyte. The electrode (32) is provided on outer side of solid electrolyte to produce different catalytic activity for reaction of substance to be detected. A terminal (19) of heating element and electrode (32) are provided with common terminal (40) and are connected over a guard (18). An independent claim is included for method for the electrical interconnection of lambda probe.
