Preparation (I) comprises propellants (A), at least one alcohol (B), a thickening polymer (C), at least a hair-fixing polymer (D) and optionally further trace components (E), where: (A) comprises at least 65 wt.%, preferably 74 wt.% of dimethyl ether; (B) comprises at least 95% of 2-3C-alcohols, preferably at least 80 wt.% of ethanol; (D) is e.g. polyquaternium-89; (C) is acrylic acid/vinyl pyrrolidone crosspolymer; the portion of oil and emulsifying agents in (I) is 0.00001-0.6 wt.%; and 0.00001-0.0006 wt.% of 7-14C-hydrocarbon are incorporated in to (I).
