The motor car chassis has a side sill (1) that includes an inner shell (2) and an outer shell (3) which are connected to each other by two flanges (5,6). A bottom plate (14) is connected to the inner shell of the side sill to form an overlap in underside of side sill. The overlap extends in horizontal plane of the motor car. An adhesive layer is formed in region of overlap.
