The heat exchanger (9) has pipelines (4, 7) for conveying heat exchanging media (6, 8), where one medium is formed as exhaust gas of a combustion engine (2). An exchanger unit is arranged in a cladding chamber and surrounded by exhaust gas in an operating condition. An exciter (52) is arranged in a housing of the heat exchanger for moving cleaning medium, and a thermal insulator is arranged between the exciter and the housing. The insulator is arranged in an adhesive agent (56) e.g. epoxy resin, and made of silicate, glass and/or ceramic.
