The method involves providing a configuration table (4) with configuration gaps, and recording articles in one of the gaps. Positions of the articles are recorded in another gap. A configuration program (61) comprising database statements (DA) e.g. structured query language command, is provided for accessing commercial data of a central database (2) and recordings (ET) in the gaps. The database statements in the program are adjusted based on the recordings in the gaps. A dynamic report is automatically generated by using a report template (7) and the adjusted database statements. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer system for generating dynamic report (2) a configuration program for executing a method for generating dynamic report.
