Electrical machine e.g. three-phase alternator, for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy of motor vehicle, has heat sink comprising apertures for cooling air within switching element in relation to rotational axis
The machine (10) has a bearing bracket (13.1) at which a synchronous rectifier is arranged to enable operation of the machine as an electric current generator. The rectifier has a switching element in body-contact with a plus heat sink (53), so that the switching element is cooled. The switching element is attached on a plate-shaped direct bonded copper (DBC) substrate that is attached perpendicular to a rotational axis (29) of a rotor (20) i.e. claw pole-rotor, on the heat sink. The heat sink has apertures for radially cooling air within the element in relation to the axis.
