The method involves laminating several layers of wood veneers and drying the laminated layers. One layer of laminated veneer wood is dried and the veneer (12) is continuously rotated endlessly between chain-like heating and pressing units (16). The compacting pressure of heating and pressing unit is adjusted, so that thickness of veneer is reduced. An independent claim is included for laminated veneer lumber.
