The connector (100) has two contact inserts (310, 320) arranged in a single-piece plastic socket housing (200). Insertion openings (311, 321) of the contact inserts are accessible by respective socket apertures (210, 220) of the socket housing. The socket apertures are arranged adjacent to each other in X-direction and separated from each other by a single-piece partition wall (230). Fastening devices (241, 251) are arranged on outer surfaces (240, 250) of the socket housing for connecting the connector with a circuit board (400). An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an electrical plug connector.
