The method involves producing power transmission (Ks) from an internal combustion engine (VM) to a vehicle wheel (R) in an engaged clutch condition by an engine clutch (MK). The transmission is stopped in a disengaged clutch condition. The engine clutch is displaced into the disengaged clutch condition if a vehicle deceleration is requested. Speed of the internal combustion engine is reduced up to a predetermined idling speed according to displacement of the engine clutch into the disengaged clutch condition. The internal combustion engine is held with the idling speed in an idle state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for controlling driving of a vehicle (2) a vehicle comprising a vehicle wheel.
