The method involves clamping a cylindrical connecting rod (2) in a device after finish honing of an inner diameter of a connecting rod eye (1) and after finish grinding to a target thickness of the connecting rod. A rotating brushing tool i.e. metal brush bonded in plastic, is inserted in middle on the connecting rod eye till the brushing tool lies on a machining finished phase (4) of the connecting rod eye. The phase is brushed till honing burs (5) and grinding burs (6) at the phase are removed. A rotation speed of the brushing tool is in a range from 200 1/minute to 3000 1/minute. An independent claim is also included for a brushing tool.
