The frame (1) has a bearing (4) connected with the frame, and another bearing (5) connected with an axially movable rack gear (3). A drive pinion (6) is rotatably mounted and engaged with a tooth of the rack gear. The former bearing is resiliently mounted in rubber bearing retainers (7, 8), in an axial direction of the rack gear. The drive pinion is connected to steering shafts (11, 13) by a steering wheel (14) in a torque-proof manner. The bearing retainers are integrally formed with the frame. The former bearing comprises a steering gear housing.
