The device has an X-ray tube (1) provided with a pulsed electron beam (10) and a rotating anode (9), and a synchronization unit (8) adjusting circulation speed of a drive e.g. electric motor (4), of the rotating anode to an integral multiple of a pulse rate of the electron beam. A grid electrode (7) is provided in the X-ray tube, and pulsates the electron beam, where the pulse duration of the electron beam is lesser than 5 milliseconds. The rotating anode is driven with the electric motor. The electron beam is deflected by an electromagnetic interference of the motor. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating pulsed X-ray radiation.
