The tensioning device (100) has two tensioning arms (110,120), where the latter tensioning arm is movable relative to the former tensioning arm in order to enable section-wise arrangement of the two workpieces (102,104) between the two tensioning arms. A tensioning unit (200) is provided with an electromotive drive for generating a frictional connection between the two work pieces. An independent claim is also included for a device with a spreading unit for spreading apart work pieces.
