The method involves temporarily connecting an inflatable body (1) with a cylindrical object (3), where the object is subjected to a locomotion. Traction units (2) e.g. chains or cables, are secured at the body and inserted into an inner region of the object. The body is inflated with a medium via a supply line. The body is formed in positive connection with an inner surface area of the object, and the object is moved with the traction units, where the inflatable body consists of flexible material. The supply line is connected to a pressure source e.g. gas source and liquid source. The medium includes gas, liquid and hydraulic oil. An independent claim is also included for a device for moving a cylindrical object.
