The method involves depositing a reflective layer system (RSS) on a planar substrate (S) by a chemical or physical coating process. The coating of the system is performed on a planar substrate, and the coated substrate is thermally bent such that the system is arranged on a convex side and/or a concave side of a curve of a mirror. The system is provided with reflective layers (F, R), and adhesion promoter layers (HB, HP), protecting layers (D) and a change layer system (WS) for increasing reflectance of the system. The layers are separated by cathodic sputtering and by wet-chemical process. An independent claim is also included for a curved mirror.
