The bearing ring (1) has a closed or round bent pipe (3) or hollow profile in a cross section, where the axial ends of the pipe or hollow profile are joined together forming a ring. The outer peripheral surfaces and inner peripheral surfaces are produced by shaping. The bearing ring has different cross-sectional profile geometry over its circumference. The cross-sectional profile geometry of the bearing ring is changed continuous over the circumference. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a bearing ring.
