The axle has differential portion which is in drive connection with two-speed transmission with reverse rotation. Several planetary gears are arranged in the power flow between differential portion and drive unit (A). The differential portion is formed as a spur gear in planetary design, and differential gears are arranged at planet wheels of approximately the same planetary pitch diameter. An independent claim is included for control unit for switching of two-speed gearbox.
