The boom (28) has two spars (30, 32) rotatably articulated at an end relative to hulls (10, 12) of a sailing boat and connected together at another end, where the spars are formed in a telescopic-form. A mounting arrangement is provided in a connecting region (34) for a neck of a headsail. The spars ends are connected with one another over an elongated connector under acute angle. Multiple struts i.e. rung elements, arranged at certain distance are provided between the spars. A traveler track is mounted on the connecter for supporting the headsail neck. An independent claim is also included for a sailing boat comprising a retaining net.
