The temperature sensor has metallic socket which is connected with process connection components, and has cladding (4) formed at the lower end and projected into the to-be-measured medium, and inner lead wires (7) at the interior of the socket to connect temperature-dependent sensing element and an electrical terminal. The cladding has microstructure in a tapered region (2) in which the temperature-dependent sensing element is arranged. The microstructure has longitudinal grooves or slats which run parallel to the protective tube axis. An independent claim is included for method for manufacture of temperature sensor.
