The method involves forming a fiber semi-finished material (1) consisting of dry preforms (2) and/or preform assemblies. A fluent matrix material is injected into a cavity (4) through injection spacers, where the cavity accommodates the fiber semi-finished material and is formed by mould parts (5-8). Back pressure is applied against a convex-shaped membrane (9) such that the matrix material is pressed into the fiber semi-finished material. The matrix material is cured by heating, and a mold body is removed from an injection mold. The membrane is made of plastic, metal or elastomer. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a mold body from fiber reinforced plastics.
