The boom has three legs (S1-S3) pivotably connected with each other in a head region (K). A crane bearing (KI) is provided in the head region for connecting a lifting unit and a load receiving unit (H). One of the legs (S1) is divided into two leg sections (S11, S12), which are guided into each other. The leg sections are provided with an adjusting device (V), which mechanically continuously telescopes a total leg length under a load. A sliding surface is provided in a region of an adjusting path between the leg sections.
