The roof has two centering elements facing lateral roof pillars (2, 3). The centering elements are engaged with locating recesses on opposite side portions (13, 14) of a sliding roof frame (7) in a position-fit manner. Holding elements are fixed to roof beams and arranged at a support angle at which holding and clamping legs are hinged to the roof frame. Adhesive stripes (18, 19) fix the sliding roof frame with a sliding roof element in a position fit manner at a roof frame (30) in predetermined areas. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a vehicle sliding roof.
