The arrangement has an ultrasonic wave reflecting body provided with a concave reflector surface (7) that is assignable with a focus region along a symmetry axis. Ultrasonic transducers (2) are arranged and spaced along the concave reflector surface, and a transducer surface is orthogonal to the symmetry axis. The ultrasonic transducer completely passes through a passage opening and traversed by the axis of symmetry. A focus region of the concave reflector surface lies in a subsequent semi-infinite space rear to the ultrasonic transducer that turns the transducer surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for radiating and receiving focused ultrasonic waves.
