The device has a windscreen cleaning system (1) wetting a windscreen (3) with washing liquid, and a windscreen wiper (4) stripping the liquid on the windscreen. A headlamp cleaning system (2) wets a diffuser (5a) of a headlamp (5) with the washing liquid. The headlamp cleaning system is activated in dependence with the windscreen cleaning system. The wiper executes a number of wiping cycles during a wiping operation upon activation of the windscreen cleaning system, where the wiping operation is terminated only after activation of the headlamp cleaning system. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a windscreen and a headlamp diffuser of a vehicle.
