The exhaust gas re-circulation unit (12) has a return line (14), through which an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine (10) is returned from an exhaust tract to an intake tract of the internal combustion engine. A cooling unit (16) is fluidly connected with the return line by which the re-circulated exhaust gas is cooled. A decoupling element (20) is provided, where placing of the cooling unit and the return line is fluidly connected together in decoupled motion.
