The vacuum endoscopy system has an overtube (1) that is equipped with an elongated slot (6V) over entire length. The fluid communication elements (4V) are integrated in the wall of overtube. A vaccum pump unit is provided with a receptacle to which over tube and endoscope are attached. The fluid collecting elements are secured at distal ends (2) of the over tube and endoscope respectively.
