The heater (1) has a semiconductor switch (20) for switching power of an electrical heating element and heat-conductively arranged outside a discharge body (10) of the heater. A cooling body (30) has two sides (31, 32) attached with each other, where water partially flows against the cooling body at one of the sides. The switch rests against a retaining plate (22). A seal (40) i.e. O-ring seal, is arranged in a region of the cooling body and inserted into a hole (11) of the discharge body. The seal outwardly seals the discharge body.
