The method involves separately using auxiliary voltage and actuator sensor interface (ASi) voltage or additionally decoupling the auxiliary voltage required for an ASi device (1) even in an ASi network (4) by a data decoupling (6). A function of the decoupling is determined by a relay or an electrically or electronically operated switch (7) and a switch controller (8). The switch is supplied and controlled by a device part, which is supplied by the auxiliary voltage. A target state of the switch is stored in the part during configuration of an application in non volatile manner. An independent claim is also included for a data decoupling including a protective diode.
