The method involves moving a door (4) from an open position along direction of a closed position during closing operation of the door. A pressure equalization process is performed for reducing or preventing overpressure in an inner space (2) of a motor car (1). A ventilation system (8) of the motor car is operated in a recirculation mode during the pressure equalization process. Ventilating power of the ventilating system during the pressure equalization process is reduced in comparison to ventilating power before starting the pressure equalization process. An independent claim is also included for a positioning device.
