The thread supplying device (10) comprises a tube (14), where a surgical thread (18) runs through the tube. The thread at its end projects from an end of the tube and has an anchorage (20) made of a material attracted by the magnets at its another end. The anchorage is arranged at another end of the tube. A casing (22) is provided, which surrounds the anchorage and an area covering the latter end of the tube and the largest part of the tube. The casing is projected through the anchorage. An independent claim is included for a threading aid for a surgical thread for interacting with a thread supplying device.
