The device i.e. manhole cover (10), has a plastic housing with metal rings (16) at an upper end portion of the device. The metal rings are arranged in a form-fit manner. An upper front surface of the housing serves for mounting metal lids (19). An abutment projection is arranged on an inner circumferential surface of the metal rings. Upper sides of the projection serve for mounting the lids. The projection is integrally connected with the metal rings in a material-fit manner. The upper sides of the projection are located in a plane of the upper front surface of the housing.
