The mirror (1) has a housing shell (7) that is made of thermoplastic synthetic material, where the shell provides in interior space for intake of a set of light sources i.e. LED, of a signal lamp unit (2). The shell is manufacturable by two-components injection molding process. The shell contains a transparent window section (13) and a dark colored inner layer. The shell comprises a visible outer surface that is made from a transparent plastic material. A printed circuit board is arranged with terminals. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an exterior mirror for a vehicle.
