The lock i.e. electrical lock, has a ratchet pawl (2) held in a locked position and a closing elements-lock latch (1) held by the pawl in a closed position. A pivoted opening lever (3) is actuated for lifting the pawl, and the lever is coupled to or with the pawl. The lever made of a single piece of wire is curved. An opening lever axle (3a) is spaced at a distance from a ratchet pawl axis (2a). A lever is formed as two-armed lever with actuating sided- and ratchet pawl-sided lever arms (4, 5). The ratchet pawl-sided lever arm is smaller than the actuating sided-lever arm. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an opening lever of a motor vehicle lock.
