The device (1) has a wind deflector (2) and a covering swingably connected with each other by hinges (5) around a pivotal axis extending in a vehicle transverse direction (4) to transfer the deflector from an upright usage position into a non-usage position. Two flexible sheets i.e. knitted fabrics (14a), are stretchable between two wind deflector parts (2a, 2b) and/or between two lid members (3a, 3b) of the covering by conveying the device from a stored position into the non-usage position or usage position and expanded by conveying the device into the stored position.
