The device (1) has a set of antenna elements for receiving MRI signals and arranged in a set of cuffs (1a, 1b). The cuffs comprise window-shaped intervention openings (2) for providing an access to a medical instrument into a patient. The device is positioned in the patient such that the intervention opening in a body longitudinal direction of the patient approximately at same height of a prostate. A rectangle defining the opening is found above the prostate in a direction from a spine to an abdomen, where the device comprises locating units i.e. guides, for the instrument. The antenna elements are designed as coil elements, and the medical instrument is designed as an aspiration cannula.
