The device comprises: a first cutting device such as a wood plane-/cutting edge- or a peeling knife (8) for cutting a wood leaf (10) form a wood blank (4); a second cutting device such as a comb knife, a needle board or knife wheels (14) for cutting the wood leaf in the same length of the wood fibers; a summary- and twisting device for summarizing and twisting an amount of the wood fibers to a twisted strand from the wood fibers; and a device for partially filling interspaces between the wood fibers of a wood fiber-strand with a wax-/paraffin material. The device comprises: a first cutting device such as a wood plane-/cutting edge- or a peeling knife (8) for cutting a wood leaf (10) form a wood blank (4); a second cutting device such as a comb knife, a needle board or knife wheels (14) for cutting the wood leaf in the same length of the wood fibers; a summary- and twisting device for summarizing and twisting an amount of the wood fibers to a twisted strand from the wood fibers; a device for partially filling interspaces between the wood fibers of a wood fiber-strand with a wax-/paraffin material such as wax-/paraffin material bath or wax-/paraffin spraying device; and a device for cutting the wood fiber-strands in the same length of the cylindrical igniters. The device further comprises: an untwisting device for untwisting the wood fiber-strand provided with the wax material by untwisting ends of the strands against a twisting direction of the wood fiber; a desk (6) for positioning the wood blanks, where the desk and the first cutting device are moveable relative to each other; a memory-/storage area for the wood fibers; a cooling area for cooling the wood fiber-strand after the wax-/paraffin material-bath; and a conveyance unit between the first and second cutting devices, between the cutting device and the summary- and twisting device, between the summary- and twisting device and the device for filling interspaces, between the device for filling interspaces and the untwisting device, between the untwisting device and the cutting device, between the untwisting device and the cooling area and/or between the cooling area and the cutting device. The second cutting device is displayed to intersect superimposed wood blades in the same length of the wood fibers. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for manufacturing igniters for a fireplace- or a grill fire or for igniting solid fuel ovens; and (2) an igniter for a fireplace- or grill fire or for igniting solid fuel ovens.
