The system (1) has a sensor system (3) including a linear acceleration sensor (33), a turning rate sensor (32) and a magnetic field sensor (31) with sensor axes (x-z). A controller e.g. microcontroller (4), calculates motion data e.g. spatial position of weapon, using sensor data. The controller controls an electromechanical actuator (5) in dependence of the calculated data. A calibration apparatus e.g. emergency stop switch (9), transfers a reference spatial position of the weapon to the controller, where signals of the switch are received at an entrance of a safety area. The motion data comprises direction of muzzle of the weapon. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electronic program code unit (2) a shooting stand or system.
