The device has a temperature sensor (10a), a contact surface (12a) and permanent magnets (14a) for pressing the contact surface against a partial ferromagnetic cookware (18a). An overheating protection unit prevents overheating of the magnets. The magnets are arranged at a distance from the contact surface, and a holding unit (20a) presses a part of the sensor against a wall surface of the cookware. The holding unit has a spring element, and a supporting unit rotatably supports the magnets against an axis. A power supply unit (30a) supplies power to the cookware device. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising a hob and a cookware device.
