The method involves measuring surface temperature (100) of a cell at a starting point (130) and a termination point (140) of a rest period (160), and obtaining estimated core temperature (110) of the cell at the starting point. Time required for converging the surface temperature of the cell at the starting point and the estimated core temperature of the cell at the starting point is obtained. The core temperature of the cell at the termination point is evaluated based on the measured surface temperature, the estimated core temperature and the obtained time.
