Guide shoe (1) of a guiding device of a closing unit of a plastics processing machine for supporting and guiding a movable mold clamping plate (30) in its closing direction, comprises an elongated base body (2) in the closing direction, on which sliding and/or rolling elements are attachable, and a connecting element spaced apart from the base body and extending perpendicularly in the closing direction, exhibiting an attachment region for attaching the guide shoe on the movable mold clamping plate. The connecting element is formed as a deformation element (10). Guide shoe (1) of a guiding device of a closing unit of a plastics processing machine for supporting and guiding a movable mold clamping plate (30) in its closing direction, comprises an elongated base body (2) in the closing direction, on which sliding- and/or rolling elements are attachable, and a connecting element spaced apart from the base body and extending perpendicularly in the closing direction, exhibiting an attachment region for attaching the guide shoe on the movable mold clamping plate. The movable mold clamping plate decoupled from the base body is attachable at the attachment region of the connecting element. The connecting element is formed as a deformation element (10). The deformation element is connected to the base body through a connecting region, which forms a desired bending zone with respect to a bending about a bending axis that is parallel to the closing direction. The deformation element further forms a desired torsion zone about a torsion axis arranged perpendicular to the closing direction.
