The rescuing apparatus (1) has an electrically nonconductive guide tube (1.1) at an end (1.1.1), where an end (1.3.1) of an electrically non-conductive tension element (1.3) is fastened. Another end (1.3.2) of the non-conductive tension element is guided through the guide tube to form a loop (S) for longitudinal displacement. An independent claim is also included for a method for rescuing a victim of electric shock from a power or voltage source.
