The alignment or fixing device (1) has a base plate (3), where an internally threaded nut (4) is pressed in loss-proof and torque-proof manner. A position of a gear for the axis is defined by a relative position of the pressed-nut to the base plate. A classification (5) is applied to the base plate. An independent claim is also included for a chassis for a motor vehicle with a gear, particularly with a rear axle.
