The ceramic component is conveyed to an outlet opening from an inlet opening. The ceramic component between the conveyor and the outlet opening is cut by line-shaped cutting elements (6). The line-shaped cutting elements are integrally connected and/or non-positively fixed and/or form-fitted with local components. The line-shaped cutting elements are dimensioned such that the spacing of cavities generated in cross-sectional area is 3-2mm. An independent claim is included for ceramic component.
